Cassis
Just east of Marseille,
Cassis is one of the many gorgeous
little beaches along the Mediterranean. Crystal clear waters in a placid
protected inlet. If you go during the high season be warned that it gets
very crowded and parking is nearly impossible. You would do well to arrive
very early to beat the crowds and get a decent parking space close to the beach.
At the harbor there are numerous restaurants specializing in coquillage,
the shellfish of the Mediterranean. If you're adventurous, try some
tellines, tiny clam-like shellfish which are a delicacy in the Camargue.
